Arrival in Baku & the Old City
Arrive in Baku and walk the seafront boulevard beneath the Flame Towers, then enter the walled Icheri Sheher to see the Maiden Tower. Overnight: Baku.
Day 2
Gobustan to Shamakhi
Head west via the rock art of Gobustan, the cliff-side Diri Baba Mausoleum and the Juma Mosque of Shamakhi, an old capital of the Shirvan region. Overnight: Shamakhi.
Day 3
Lahij Coppersmiths & the Road to Sheki
Visit the mountain village of Lahij, famed for its coppersmiths, and the silk-weaving village of Basgal, then continue through Ismayilli to Sheki. Overnight: Sheki.
Day 4
Sheki Khan’s Palace & Old Town
The highlight of the route: the painted stained-glass Palace of the Shaki Khans, the Upper Caravanserai and a tasting of Sheki halva. Overnight: Sheki.
Day 5
Kish Church & Gabala
Visit the ancient Albanian church at Kish, then drive to Gabala to walk beside Lake Nohur and ride the Tufandag cable car. Overnight: Gabala.
Day 6
Return to Baku & Departure
Drive back to Baku via the Absheron coast, visit the Heydar Aliyev Center and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
