Arrival at Kilimanjaro & Arusha
Fly from Baku and arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Transfer to Arusha with views of Mount Meru and, on a clear day, the summit of Kilimanjaro. Overnight: Arusha.
Day 2
Arusha National Park
Walking and game viewing in Arusha National Park: the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella Lakes and colobus monkeys in the forest. Overnight: Arusha.
Day 3
Tarangire & the Baobab Valley
A game drive through Tarangire National Park, famous for its baobab trees and large herds of elephants along the river. Overnight: Karatu.
Day 4
Lake Manyara & the Rift Escarpment
Explore the groundwater forest and the alkaline lake of Lake Manyara National Park, with viewpoints across the escarpment. Overnight: Karatu.
Day 5
Ngorongoro Rim & Olduvai Gorge
Climb to the crater rim for a first panorama of the Ngorongoro Crater, then visit the “cradle of mankind” at Olduvai Gorge. Overnight: Ngorongoro.
Day 6
Crater Floor Game Drive
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning of game viewing among lions, hippos, buffalo and, with luck, the black rhino, with a picnic by the hippo pool. Overnight: Arusha.
Day 7
Fly to Zanzibar – Stone Town
Take the short flight to Zanzibar and wander the alleys of Stone Town, the House of Wonders and the Old Fort, ending at Forodhani Gardens. Overnight: Stone Town.
Day 8
Spice Farm & Prison Island
Discover the scents of a working spice plantation, then take a boat to Prison Island to meet giant tortoises and snorkel in clear water. Overnight: Stone Town.
Day 9
East Coast Beaches & Jozani Forest
Travel to the east coast for a walk in Jozani Forest with its red colobus monkeys, then relax on the white sands of Paje. Overnight: Paje.
Day 10
Farewell Zanzibar & Departure
A final swim or sunrise walk on the beach before the transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home.
